Pan Fried Tofu with Ginger Teriyaki Sauce (Vegetarian)

This Teriyaki Ginger Tofu is perfect for vegetarians. The sauce, made with ginger and Japanese teriyaki sauce, is rich and flavourful. Paired with crispy pan-fried tofu, it’s a delicious dish that’s ready in just 15 minutes—simple and convenient.



Ingredients (serve 2)

 

Firm Tofu

1 carton

Asparagus

6 spears

Ginger

1 pc

Teriyaki Sauce

2 tbsp

Sake/ Yuzu Wine

2 tbsp

Water

1 tbsp

Sea Salt

to taste


Steps

 
1. Cut the tofu into 6 pieces, then gently pat it dry with paper towels.

2. Grate the ginger.

3. Heat a pan over medium heat and add a small amount of oil. Place the tofu in the pan and cook until both sides are golden brown (season with a little sea salt while cooking). Remove and set aside.

4. Using the same pan, add the asparagus and cook until tender. Remove and set aside.

5. Over low heat, mix in water, teriyaki sauce, yuzu liquor, and ginger paste. Simmer until thickened.

6. On a plate, first lay out the asparagus, then arrange the tofu pieces on top, and finally drizzle with the ginger teriyaki sauce.
