How to make a Frittata - a delicious version with Crab Meat

Speaking of easy-to-cook and delicious, eggs are definitely my first choice. Every region around the world has its own signature egg recipes, and this time, let's make a frittata that will captivate Italians!

Frittata is truly quick and easy to make, and the ingredients for the filling can be freely matched. Almost any ingredient you can think of can be added. It contains both protein and vegetables, so I think it's quite healthy.

This time, I chose crab meat as the star ingredient for the filling. I added a whole box (220 grams) of frozen crab meat all at once. Every bite of the frittata has crab meat in it. Combined with the sweetness of onions and red peppers, it tastes incredibly delicious. Enjoy it hot off the stove—it's absolutely delightful!

Homemade should be generous with ingredients. All 220 grams of crab meat are added into the frittata, ensuring every bite is filled with rich crab flavour.

BIGBOY TIPS✨

📌If you don't have an oven, you can cook by covering with a lid. Here's how: When the egg mixture has solidified to about 60-70%, reduce the heat to low, cover, and cook for another 4-5 minutes.

📌Frittata can be made with different ingredients. Besides crab meat, you can also add shrimp, bacon, spinach, and other ingredients!

Ingredients (serve 2)

Crab Meat

220g

Egg

6 bulbs

Asparagus

10pcs

Red Capsicum

1 bulb

Onion

¼ bulb

Heavy Cream

100 ml

Ground Black Pepper

1 pinch

Salt

1 pinch

Parmesan Cheese

50g

Basil

2 sprig

Steps

1. Brunoise the onion. Deseed the red pepper and cut it into small pieces. Halve the asparagus with the upper part remaining whole and the lower part cut into small segments. Pick the basil leaves.

2. Take a bowl, crack the eggs into it, mix in grated Parmesan cheese, heavy cream, black pepper, and salt. Stir until well combined. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F).

3. Heat a medium-high heat skillet, add 2-3 tablespoons of oil, sauté the onion and red pepper for 1 minute until fragrant, then add all the asparagus and sauté for another 3-4 minutes.

4. After that remove the upper halves of the asparagus. Then, in the same pan, add 2/3 of the crab meat and basil leaves, and mix well.

5. Pour in the egg mixture, then slowly stir all the ingredients in the pan (see small image) until the eggs are about 60-70% set.

6. When the egg mixture has set to about 60-70%, turn off the heat. Arrange the reserved asparagus tips and the remaining 1/3 of crab meat on the surface. Then, place it in the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes until done.
