Green Papaya Salad (SOM TAM THAI) With Steak - a Low-Carb Choice for Your Summer Appetizer

The scorching summer makes you crave something appetizing without loading up on carbs. This super refreshing Thai green papaya salad with pan-seared beef is sure to hit the spot.

Although Thai cuisine often requires a variety of spices, with some dishes having lengthy ingredient lists, green papaya salad is quite the opposite. It requires only a few ingredients and spices, making it very simple to prepare. It's easy to imagine that Thai salads are composed of sweet, sour, and spicy elements—sweetness from sugar, sourness from lime, and spiciness from chili. With these three ingredients in place, your green papaya salad is guaranteed to be delicious.

A refreshing and appetizing green papaya salad paired with medium-cooked steak makes for a healthy, delicious, and nutritious main meal.

In addition to the green papaya salad, I paired it with steak, adding a Western touch to this Thai salad. It not only makes for a complete meal but also quick to prepare, delicious, and satisfying, offering both a carb option and a filling sensation.
